Forgive the past

30 Sep

Something inspirational:

“Forgive the past. It is over. Learn from it and let go. People are constantly changing and growing. Do not cling to a limited, disconnected, negative image of a person in the past. See that person now. Your relationship is always alive and changing.”

Challenge your motivation

29 Sep

We’ve probably all had days where we’re less than motivated. Perhaps on those less than motivational days, we should challenge our less than positive behaviour!

These tips work for me:

  • If something is too difficult or you’re doing something that is out of your depth, it’s very easy to lose motivation. Be clear as much as you can on what you’re about to embark on, so that you understand the challenge ahead. When you’re confident you’re more likely to achieve your goal;

Life’s journey

28 Sep

I believe the saying that any great journey starts with one small step, is true.

As a child I wasn’t aware life was a journey, let alone my journey. I never stopped to question my life, or why I had CP, or why that was my journey, or what that bigger picture was. All I knew was that …

Our intuitive guide

26 Sep

My focus

25 Sep

The CP Diary blogs give me clarity. They help me to work and understand my life so that I stay focused. They help me remain calm in my not so calm world! I find it helpful when I can read and refer back to what I write. The contents of what I write help me to perceive my life so that I continue …

Uniqueness and change

24 Sep

Something inspirational:

“A tulip doesn’t strive to impress anyone. It doesn’t struggle to be different than a rose. It doesn’t have to. It is different. And there’s room in the garden for every flower. You didn’t have to struggle to make your face different than anyone else’s on earth …

Discretion and straight talking

23 Sep

The world over, we’ve probably all done it, telling people what they want to hear, rather than what they need to hear.

Telling someone what they want to hear isn’t the same thing and shouldn’t be confused with telling them what they need to hear. For some it may not only make their situation worse and for others …

A quiet mind

22 Sep

As a child when something was too hard for me, I switched off to it, although night terrors made that more difficult.

In a way it saved with the frustrations and to some extent it still does. Like a light switch I’ve learned to shut my mind off. Initially, I would write my thoughts down so that they were on paper and not a permanent fixture in my head. If it were something I had no control over …

Being free

Something inspirational:

“For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.”
