I have always been fascinated how we can change many things with a little bit of understanding. I wanted to elaborate more on the subconscious, how when we work towards changing the subconscious, we can change.
The subconscious is the key to us maintaining a positive attitude. The conscious mind decides what we want to do, but ultimately, it’s the subconscious that tells us what we will do. When we consciously choose to do something, we are simply trying to achieve our goals and dreams through determination.
We start off with good intentions, but over around 90% of the time, our old beliefs and habits that are continually stored in our subconscious, stop us from reaching those goals. We can develop a positive attitude, we can decide to follow a healthy and nutritious diet, we can change our beliefs and habits, just by changing the thoughts that come from our subconscious mind.
Of course, different techniques can be applied to help us change our thought patterns and the thinking process. Once we have decided what we want to improve on or change, then we can go about change. Techniques such as affirmations, visualisation, hypnosis and meditation are all used to change the subconscious, but they must be repeated for a minimum of 30 days to see any benefit.
Research has confirmed that it takes a minimum of 30 days to change thought patterns, habits or beliefs. Consistency is one of the key factors in reprogramming the subconscious. Once we understand the logistics behind the subconscious and conscious we can change.
But it is important for us to work on the subconscious so that we can affect that change. The subconscious and conscious need to work in sync with each other. Without that happening, inevitably we will go back to our old habits of thinking and behaviour.
