Changing our behaviour

I have always been fascinated how we can change many things with a little bit of understanding. I have written a blog about this particular topic, but wanted to elaborate more on the subconscious mind and how when we work towards change of the subconscious; we can change.

The subconscious is the key to us maintaining a positive attitude, so that we can be successful. The conscious mind decides what we want to do, but ultimately it’s our subconscious that tells us what we will do.

When we consciously choose to do something, we are simply trying to achieve our goals and dreams through determination. We start off with good intentions, but over around 90% of the time, our old beliefs and habits that are continually stored in our subconscious, stop us from reaching those goals.

We can develop a positive attitude; we can decide to follow a healthy and nutritious diet; we can change our beliefs and habits; any habit we want, just by changing the thoughts that come from our subconscious mind.

Of course, different techniques can be applied to help us change our thoughts, patterns and the thinking process. Once we have decided what we want to change and what we want to improve on, then we can go about changing them. Affirmations, visualisation, hypnosis and meditation are all techniques used to change our subconscious mind, but we must repeat the exercise for a minimum of 30 days to see any benefit.

Research has confirmed that it takes a minimum of 30 days to change any thought pattern, habit or belief. Missing a day means we have to start from scratch, until 30 days have been completed. Consistency is one of the key factors in reprogramming the subconscious.

Once we understand the logistics behind the subconscious and conscious we can change. It is important for us to work on our subconscious so that we affect the change that we need. I believe that expecting our conscious mind to change without this work, is virtually impossible in the longer term.

Invariably and I have seen this happen, we will go back to our old habits of behaviour.

    1. I think people will always reach their own conclusions about how we change our behavior, but this is something I have known for years and have seen some of the results myself, particularly through positive affirmations.

In that way it can be thought provoking. Glad you liked today’s post.

    1. Yes that would be a very good place to start. If we know that we can change things, we will probably be more open to suggestions of how things might change.

  1. This is definitely something that has to be worked on over time. I would imagine that over time you could change any of the old thought patterns or behaviors through the various techniques.

I’ll have to try it out to see how well it would work,

  2. I believe this is true but I’ve never tried it myself. Maybe it’s time I do and change a few things.

I have become more positive by making myself think more positively. I need to get my daughter to do this also.

    1. I think it’s never too late to change our behavior and attitude. Once we know how we can achieve these kind of results, it’s easier to work through and achieve.

Perhaps you and your daughter could do this together. It’s good that you’ve been a little more positive. I believe any positivity helps.
