  1. I get this quote. Most people have a less than happy relationship with change and they would rather stay where they are, than face the challenges that changes bring.

Some people are opposed to change, period. But change is an inevitable part of life. I’m sure there is a saying that without change there is no growth.

    1. Thank you. Yes I think that it is too. But as you say without change, we can’t grow and life stays the same. That would be okay if we were happy with where we are, but that doesn’t happen all the time.

If it wasn’t for change, we wouldn’t go on to make new memories or experience new things and we’d stay stuck emotionally. Now that would be sad.

  2. Change is a natural disturbance that makes me feel uneasy, especially if I don’t approve it.

But while I’m swearing and spitting at change, I’m being prepared for something, I just don’t know what it is.

    1. Thanks Tim. Yes, any change can be daunting, but particularly change we don’t sanction ourselves can make us feel uneasy. You’re absolutely right.

I think your last paragraph sums up your response beautifully. I also believe change prepares us for something.

That something I believe is emotional growth. It’s how we learn, how we learn to do things better and be better.

  3. Such an accurate quote, no one likes to be changed. Our opinion of ourselves has been ingrained through years of self-talk.

In an ideal world, we would treat ourselves with kid gloves. The one thing that we do is cut other people slack.

What we really should be doing is cutting ourselves a piece of slack as well. It’s like that old saying, we can’t love someone else, if we don’t love ourselves.

Change isn’t always welcomed, but if we work on ourselves we can learn to accept it more easily.
