Yes, words hurt worse than being beat up and they don’t heal as easy as a wound.
Thanks Lisa. You’re absolutely right, they don’t.
Good quote and great explanation by Lisa too. No-one can see the internal emotional harm.
Yes Lisa’s explanation is a good one. You’re right, no-one can see the internal emotional harm.
There are those of us who wear our heart on our sleeve and there are others who close rank around their emotions and saying nothing; but as we probably have all come to realise at some point in our lives, negative emotions can take years to heal, unlike a superficial wound which will take weeks to heal.
Most people walk around looking OK, but deep inside they carry pain that is not visible to the public.
Thanks Maria. Yes you’re absolutely right they do; although from my own experience over the years, people aren’t always so great at hiding their pain.
We may not be able to see the scope of someone’s emotional/internal injuries, but we can certainly see the pain in the eyes if we look deep enough.
They say the eyes are the portal to the soul.
Thanks Tim. You’re absolutely right; I have also heard it said that the eyes are the portal to the soul, through the significance of ones gaze.
