Accepting our differences

A passing thought:

We’re all different. We all have different talents as well as different attributes.

We also have a different standard of living with different amounts of luck. Free yourself of the feelings of jealousy brought about by comparisons of you and others. It’s easy to be jealous of others who we feel are better than us. No one should compare or be compared. Let others live their lives whilst you embrace your own unique qualities.

Open your mind to your own possibilities and opportunities. That’s all that matters.

  1. Jealousy is poison. I used to be so jealous of my brother but not any more. I would not trade my life for his.

He made it look so easy to find the love of his life; but our situations are so different. I believe my time will come, I just have to wait until the time is right. I have skills that my brother does not.

I am outgoing where he is the quiet one. I can converse with people where he chooses to be in the corner by himself.

    1. I think the hard part of any relationship is sibling rivalry. We’ve all had to live through some of it, but accepting that we’re all different is the first step to allowing us to be at one with ourselves and our siblings.

As adults it’s easier to achieve, but our parents influence also plays a big part in allowing us to accept our differences as siblings.

  2. Yes, live and let live is a very fitting statement! I’ve spent far too many years comparing my life to others.

I’m hoping and praying that I can work on that in the very near future so I can actually get on with my own life and stop worrying about everybody else’s life.
