Following your dreams

Something inspirational:

“There are those people today who live the same life, day-in day-out predictable, risk-free, dreamless. They are the harshest critics of those who choose to break free from this mundane existence. In this world, too many people are afraid to pursue the life they truly desire, too afraid of being criticized by others, too afraid of failing, too afraid of not knowing the way. However, there are also those who choose to follow their dreams, those who choose to rebel; those who strive to be free, those who live. Stay true to yourself. Break free from the chains of society and live. May you too have the strength and courage to pursue your dreams.”

  1. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to follow your dreams?

I guess there aren’t many of us that can honestly say that we have followed our dreams, as certainly in my experience real life gets in the way.

I’m fortunate in that I don’t look back and say that I’d wish I’d done this or that, as I’m not that sort of person. I’m far more interested in what lies ahead and in changing that and in trying to ensure my children do what makes them happy.

    1. You’re absolutely right it would be nice to follow our dreams, but sometimes as you say life stops us from achieving those dreams.

You are lucky that you don’t look back. From my own experiences, those kind of thoughts can be counterproductive to us moving forward unless we’re strong enough to do something about it.

  2. It has been a very long time since I followed my dreams.

I’ve always put other people’s needs ahead of mine which really hasn’t gotten me very far.

I’m hoping and praying that I will be able to overcome my obstacles in the future and follow my dreams once more.

    1. I did exactly the same as you putting others first, without thinking about what I wanted. I believe it’s up to us to change how we see and do things so that we get to follow our own dream not that of somebody else.

We are the only ones that can, no one is going to do it for us, UNFORTUNATELY!

  3. I have done stuff and still do stuff that goes against what others think, like adopting.

People have said I shouldn’t do that, but you know what I don’t care what they say. It was meant to happen this way and it will happen. It’s my life and I do what I want to do.

    1. It’s not up to anyone else what you decide to do Lisa. Your life, your choice. I’m not sure if it were me I would offer an opinion and definitely not at this stage in the proceedings.

I think that now that you’re in the process of adopting, those who are telling you you’re doing the wrong thing should be gracious and let you get on with it.

True friends will be happy for you. They wouldn’t judge like that.
