Nurturing our thoughts

Something inspirational:

Our life depends on the kind of thoughts we nurture. If our thoughts are peaceful, calm, meek, and kind, then that is what our life is like. If our attention is turned to the circumstances in which we live, we are drawn into a whirlpool of thoughts and can have neither peace nor tranquility.”

  1. I can see the reasoning behind this quote and agree to some extent that our lives are a reflection of our own thoughts and behaviour.

Unfortunately there are (all too often) external influences that also impact on our lives, but even in those circumstances we are in control of how we deal with those circumstances.

    1. I agree with you. I have always believed that our lives are a reflection of our own thoughts and from those thoughts and emulating behaviour.

Although external influences will always impact on our lives I believe we must always be in control of how we deal with any presenting circumstances.

  2. I agree with this quote. Our thoughts do influence our lives so much. I can think back to certain times when my mood had been affected by the thoughts I was having. We can make ourselves sick literally with our thoughts. I have talked myself into anxiety just because my thought led me there.

If we are thinking bad things about a person we’re more than likely not going to treat that person very well and usually that person can tell when we’re thinking bad things about them. Our thoughts can have such influence on our lives.

We need to learn to think positively and live a positive life.

  3. I really like this quote because it’s so true. Having positive thoughts can lead to positive outcomes. Having negative thoughts make the outcome more likely to be negative.

I really struggle with thinking positive most of the time; something that I am trying to work through. I think it stems from my childhood and negative thoughts about my dad.

Definitely will be working on that because life is what you make it.

    1. Thanks Maria. Absolutely! Life is what we make it. The more positive we are, the positive outcome we will have. I agree.

I can resonate with you on the negative thoughts you had as a child. Even though our circumstances were different I grew up with a lot of negativity around me. Too much. It’s not easy but We must be positive.
