  1. I agree. When I don’t do anything I feel bad. I feel the loss of time. Not that I feel bad for resting but just doing meaningless things, but I don’t like wasting money either.

When your barely getting by money wise, it’s not a good idea to waste money, but your time is more valuable I think.

  2. A very simple saying but very true, especially as we only here for a limited and indeterminable time. Wasting that time seems a sensible thing to avoid.

  3. I always believe in making things count, especially when it comes to my time.

If you waste your time, those are moments that you will never get back. If we could all learn how to make things count with our time it would be so much better.

On the other hand, sometimes we need to take a break and recharge our batteries in the stressful lives we lead.

  4. Thanks Maria. I agree with you. I also think taking a break is equally as important and can in some circumstances make us more productive, particularly when it comes to work.

  5. I think Maria is absolutely right.

We know time doesn’t stand still for anyone, time never stops. It is to our advantage to be still and do absolutely nothing on occasions. How much do we want to accomplish in one lifetime anyway, only to realize we’ve accomplished nothing?

I would love to waste part of my life smelling the roses, if I could.

    1. Thanks Tim. Sometimes we accomplish more than we think, but life has a habit of making us think we haven’t accomplished anything.

Your last paragraph resonates with me greatly. I think the whole point to life is being able to look at life in a more simplistic way. Concentrate on the parts of life that really matter.

The best thing we could do is spend a lifetime of going back to nature and of smelling the roses. That would be a blessing.

  6. Unfortunately time is the one thing that money can’t buy, so you’re better off making the best of it while you have it. I’ve wasted a good part of my life dwelling on the things I didn’t do when I had the chance, so I’m trying to make the best of it now.

I’m hoping that I can do at least some small amount of good with the time I do have left!

    1. I don’t think you’re completely alone on that one Randy. As hard as it is to do sometimes we just have to go for it and make those changes.

  7. I agree with this. Money is only useful for material gain and therefore only material gain can be lost.

Time is essential for everything and therefore when time is lost, there is much more to lose.

    1. Claude that’s an interesting perspective on this quote and one of which I wholeheartedly agree.

Ultimately there’s nothing more precious than time.
