Shawarma Spice Mix

Originally of Turkey origin, Shawarma Mix can be used in any culture and can be added to lamb, chicken, turkey, beef or veal. When Olive Oils is applied to the Mix, it can also be rubbed on a piece of tuna before grilling, or can be rubbed on chicken before cooking.

Ingredients:

1 tbs cumin

1 tbs coriander

2 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp all spice

1/2 tsp turmeric

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp black pepper

  1. I actually made some of this today, following this recipe. I ground up the cumin and coriander seeds by hand and then mixed them with the other spice that I bought ready ground. I then sprinkled it on some tuna steak before cooking it on a griddle.

    It tasted amazing! Not at all hot and spicy but smokey and exotic! Or maybe that’s just because I made it myself!

    1. I’m not sure, but everything tends to taste better, differently when we make it ourselves!

      I have tried Shawarma spice mix in the past, but tend to stay away from it now because it has a tendency to make me ill.
