About my week

It’s been one of those weeks. The near to positive part of the week is that I’ve managed to cut down on my reflux episodes and although not completely cured, I am certainly doing better than I was. The reflux diet seems to be working. I need to make sure I’m not presented with stress, because for me reflux is usually made worse by stress.

I am also slightly concerned over my reflux problems. I really need to make sure that my diet will not make my health problems worse in the longer term. I am beginning to feel better, so it’s clearly having a positive effect on me, but taking food groups out has never been something I agree with.

I probably need to carry out more research to know what the implications might be. Again, the positive point to all of this is that taking out acidic foods on this diet will make my body more alkaline, which should help with reflux as well as help avoid conditions like Osteoporosis and Arthritis.

Our cat has had her fair share of troubles too. She presented with what we thought was a water infection, but that seemed to change because last night she coughed up blood on the kitchen floor. She’s now been admitted for observation so that the vet can see if anything is obvious.

The vet didn’t want to do any x-rays at this stage, or put her through unnecessary tests. He also isn’t worried, but will monitor her to make sure she’s okay. I am not worried either. I tend not to worry over what I have no control of.

Illness is just one part of looking after a pet. It’s unfortunate but inevitable. I am sure she will be fine.

  1. I think you’re doing really good on the diet and hope it gets even better for you.

I also hope Pumpkin feels better soon. As a cat owner I know what you’re going through with illness. I have 3 and I think our oldest who is 14 is slightly ill in some way or another, even though the vet says she’s just old.

    Good luck with everything.

    1. Thanks Lisa. I am doing a lot better on my diet, but not feeling so good now. Pumpkin is doing better, she’s home now.

We’ll be keeping an eye on her for a little while just to make sure.
