In society, in the work place and in the home very few people look beyond the disability to see the real person underneath, but as individuals we need to be more accepting of ourselves before we are able to accept others.

Those who deal with any long-term condition, must also try to be more accepting of themselves. If they were supported and accepted by family, friends and society as a whole, it would make their lives much easier.

It’s not to say that everyone works this way, but realistically, how are those with a disability supposed to find a level of acceptance for themselves, when what they deal with isn’t accepted by others?

This is so true when it comes to disability.

  1. Absolutely the same with BP disorder, it’s hard to accept it, but with time we learn to deal with it.
