I know what this feels like. In society and in the home very few people look beyond a person’s disability to see the real person underneath. We need to be more accepting of others and that comes when we’re more accepting of ourselves.

For those who deal with any long-term condition, they need to also try to be more accepting of themselves. If they were supported and accepted by family and society as a whole, it would make their lives much easier.

It’s not to say that everyone works this way, but realistically, how are those with a disability supposed to find a level of acceptance for themselves, when what they deal with isn’t accepted by others?

This is so true when it comes to disability.

  1. Absolutely the same with BP disorder, it’s hard to accept it, but with time we learn to deal with it.
