Ever since I was small, I have always cared. I cared about those who didn’t care about me because they didn’t care about themselves. We accept the status quo because we’re afraid of what others will think.
I tip toed through life doing things to please others, because it was expected, because I didn’t want to rock the boat and I was looking for acceptance. Our actions are then moulded by how we think others will perceive us and that stops us from living our lives. As we journey through life, we care about what others will think.
Living your life by caring what other people think becomes exhausting. It’s okay to care, but care about those who care about you. Stop living up to other people’s expectations. People will always judge and have an opinion, no matter what you do.
Instead, simplify your life. Live by your own values on how you choose to live, because that will dictate who you allow in your life and who you will let go of. People will judge, but you can stop those who continue to judge and affect you, by choosing to ignore their comments.
People who don’t judge or pass an opinion, unless you ask for one, are the people who will be there for you during your worst times, they are the people you should choose to focus on. Care about those who care about you.
