Changing our behaviour

I have always been fascinated by how with a little understanding we can change things. I want to elaborate more on how when we work towards changing the subconscious, we will change the conscious and we will change.

The subconscious is the key to us maintaining a positive attitude. The conscious mind decides what we want to do, but it is our subconscious that tells us what we will do. When we consciously do something, we act on what we have chosen to do, through our present thoughts.

We may start off with good intentions, and even decide what goals we want to achieve, but it’s the old beliefs and habits that are stored in our subconscious that stop us from reaching those goals.

By changing the thoughts that come from our subconscious mind, we can develop a positive attitude; for instance we can decide to follow a healthy and nutritious diet, and we can change our beliefs and habits.

Different techniques can be applied to help us change our thought patterns and the entire thinking process. Once we have decided what we want to improve on or change, then we can go about achieving it.

Certain techniques such as affirmations, hypnosis and meditation can be used to help change our subconscious thinking. Research has confirmed that it takes a minimum of thirty days to change thought patterns, habits or beliefs.

Consistency is one of the key factors in reprogramming the subconscious. Once we understand the processes behind the subconscious and conscious, we will and can change. The subconscious and conscious need to work in sync with each other over an extended period, for change to happen.

Without that we will go back to our old habits of thinking and behaviour. As part of the process we must deal with any past issues.

    1. I think people will always reach their own conclusions about how we change our behavior, but this is something I have known for years and have seen some of the results myself, particularly through positive affirmations.

      In that way it can be thought provoking. Glad you liked today’s post.

    1. Yes that would be a very good place to start. If we know that we can change things, we will probably be more open to suggestions of how things might change.

  1. This is definitely something that has to be worked on over time. I would imagine that over time you could change any of the old thought patterns or behaviors through the various techniques.

    I’ll have to try it out to see how well it would work,

  2. I believe this is true but I’ve never tried it myself. Maybe it’s time I do and change a few things.

    I have become more positive by making myself think more positively. I need to get my daughter to do this also.

    1. I think it’s never too late to change our behavior and attitude. Once we know how we can achieve these kind of results, it’s easier to work through and achieve.

      Perhaps you and your daughter could do this together. It’s good that you’ve been a little more positive. I believe any positivity helps.
