My health & food

Although it’s often difficult for those of us with health issues to plan ahead, planning ahead for me primarily depends on how well I’m dealing with my issues around my health, whether I’m eating the right foods, whether I eat at the right times, whether I go too long between meals, or whether I’m eating the right amount.

It also depends on what I’m dealing with at the time. On a more positive note, I feel as though I am beginning to understand the correlation between the foods that I know I can eat and the foods that make me ill and that’s giving me more confidence. I’m also better at saying no when it comes to the food I know I have a problem with.

  1. I think it’s great that your figuring out the food situation. It does help a lot when we know what we can eat or can’t. Do you eat 6 small meals a day? Sometimes that helps if we have problems going without between meals.

I graze eat during the day and eat a large breakfast and not much at night. I’ve found that helps me a lot especially since I’m going to be going to bed and I don’t get any activity while I sleep. It helps with my blood sugar in the morning not being up.

I know how hard it can be to go for a break somewhere and have to plan your eating around the activities. I have thought about it a lot lately because of my son. All his food has to be pureed so I have to make it ahead of time and freeze it. We won’t be able to just take him and go out to eat. I have to take his meals with me. Then he has snacks between meals so I have to plan around them.

I hope you get everything straightened out to go on a short holiday with your family and enjoy yourself. You deserve it!!!

    1. Thanks Lisa. You’re absolutely right. I tend to snack healthy snacks and eat my bigger meal at lunch (if I’m having a bigger meal) and eat something smaller in the evening. It’s still easy to get caught out though with any stressful situation being a trigger.

I know how you feel Lisa with what you have to deal with. I hope as your son ages, things will be easier for you.
