Negative to positive

Whilst we have life, we can choose to perceive things differently. Negative to positive we change our perceptions. We can choose to focus our perceptions on the positive. It’s our lives, we get to choose.

We can look at a situation and see the good, or we can look at the same situation and see the bad. We should live presently and look at our lives, so that our thoughts aren’t being filtered through our subconscious all the time.

Ask yourself what you’re hoping to achieve and then think about how you might achieve it. Most of us will rely on our unconscious, the part of the mind, that occurs automatically, that’s isn’t available for introspection, creating the life we don’t want, instead of using our perceptions to change and create the lives we do want.

  1. I tend to have sporadic thoughts about every possible thing that could go wrong with my life. It is reminders like this that keep my perceptions healthy and specifically focused on the positive elements of my life and humanity.

You’re right, it’s how we perceive things that help shape our realities. We can either be part of the problem or part of the solution.

    Great post today.

    1. Thanks Tim. I agree with you and think you’re absolutely right, although I’m not sure how many people would agree with you that they could be part of the problem.

Some of the people I’ve come across, see other people as part of the problem. They’re usually part of the solution in their own minds.

  2. It’s easy to get distracted by the negative things in our lives, which don’t allow us to enjoy all the good things going on for us. I think it’s because we worry about what others think of us.

We fear that they will perceive us as not good enough because we are going through some difficulty, so we just focus on the negative things and try to fix them. We need to remind ourselves that life is not a competition.

We need to focus on what makes us happy and stop adapting what makes others happy, into our lives.

    1. Thanks Maria. Yes negativity comes in many shapes and sizes. I think you’ve made a good point. To a certain degree some of us will worry about what others think and that will bring about some form of negativity.

I love your last paragraph Maria. I think you’re completely right in what you say. Life is not a competition and we’re not in competition with anyone else but ourselves. We do need to focus on what makes us happy and not what makes others happy.

We would definitely be more positive if we were able to do that.

  3. I’ve spent far too much time in my life focused on what was wrong, instead of concentrating on what may have been right.

It’s very hard to go from being negative to switching over to the positive when it isn’t really what I’m used to. I grew up in a world where people always focused on what they couldn’t do, so it isn’t surprising that I have been stuck in that mindset.

People think it is something that you can just change overnight, but that isn’t always the case. I’m just trying to do what I can to make the best of what time I do have left in my life!

    1. Perhaps this is coming from people who haven’t had your life, who really don’t understand why you think the way you do Randy. I understand exactly why you find it difficult. I did too for as long as I can remember, but if we can change just one thing, we will have turned something around in our lives.

What I do know is that going from negative to positive isn’t an overnight fix, but one that’s very much worth the effort when we eventually do.
