That heavy feeling

I have that heavy feeling, the overwhelming feeling you get with all the trappings and responsibilities of life and all that life brings.

From having no support, wishing life felt easier, knowing things would have come easier if I’d been given the right tools to work with, without continually having to work things out for myself.

Working on our life with all its responsibilities can make us feel overwhelmed, particularly when we constantly deal with problems, some we have a resolve on, some we don’t. I’m now choosing to work on better days.

  1. My youngest sister passed away last year, my remaining sister is very ill and my mother is battling throat cancer. I resigned from my job to take care of my family and I’m in the process of selling my home to ease my financial obligations while I struggle with fate.

It’s the weight of burden, things we have no control over that causes that heavy feeling. But I also realize that life is death, illness, injury, affliction, divorce, marriage, money problems and having a baby so the process can repeat itself all over again.

But after reading your blog, Serenity Explained, that heavy feeling didn’t have the same weight, it almost made things seem a little lighter; but it still doesn’t make sense.

    1. You have my full support Tim and empathy with what you’re dealing with. Life itself doesn’t make sense, made all the worse by attitudes.

I think if people were more giving and they showed things like empathy, even if life still didn’t make sense and we had things that we had to deal with, we’d all get through our issues so much more. That heavy feeling comes when we come to struggle with things around us, including those amongst us.

Although you have much that you’re dealing with, I hope you feel stronger soon.

  2. Yes, I know that feeling all too well, since it has plagued me for as long as I can remember. There are good days and bad days when it’s just a matter of degrees as to how bad it is.

There are many days where I wake up and just DO NOT want to deal with the day and everything that comes along with it. I know a lot of it stems from growing up, always moving and never really knowing where we would be when we woke up.

It creates such a feeling of bewilderment and terror when you first wake up until you’re fully conscious and aware of where you are. There is so much more I could say about it, but suffice to say it isn’t anything I enjoy dealing with!

    1. Thanks Randy, yes I have those days too but through different circumstances to the ones you describe in your response. I had another friend who moved around constantly as a child and she seemed to be saying the same thing.

All we can do now is try to build on what we have and do our best with what we have been given. I hope the heavy feeling you have dissipates for good and soon.

  3. I often have those kind of days. I know what you mean by having a heavy feeling. Emotionally, it feels like it’s too much to bear anymore and it affects me physically too. Sometimes each step feels like it’s too much work.

It’s just that we get overwhelmed with what we go through. Usually time to myself helps me. I hope you feel better soon.

    1. Awww thanks Maria. I think time to myself helps too. You’re right, sometimes that’s all we need. Time out allows us to evaluate things.

  4. I think we all feel the same way from time to time, especially when we’re going through such difficult circumstances such as those Tim is experiencing.

Our thoughts are with you Tim.
