A Charles R Swindoll quote

Something inspirational:

“Precious few are those who can live in the lap of luxury… who can keep their moral, spiritual and financial equilibrium… while balancing on the elevated tightrope of success… there is about one in a hundred who can dance to the tune of success without paying the paper named compromise.”

  1. Wow, it seems like this is what I’m struggling with right now, even though I haven’t been able to put my finger on the problem.

My struggles over the past year or so have been of my own making, since I have been willing to compromise to keep what I consider to be the lap of luxury, in exchange for being a prisoner in my own home.

My biggest fear has been that I would have to move when the apartment is in my name, and I wouldn’t be able to drive the new vehicle, which has been nice but not worth selling my soul for.

I haven’t had a whole lot of experience with success in my life, but it would be fantastic if I could finally make an attempt to do at least some of the things I have always wanted to do, without feeling like it wasn’t meant to be.

    1. Thanks Randy. For the few who live their lives without compromise, there are even more who live their lives with compromise. I have learned in my life that compromise always comes at a price and not in monetary terms.

But you cannot put a price on piece, harmony, or tranquility and therefore we must learn not to comprise but live our lives according to our values, wants and needs.

Some things are meant to be, for example; being born to our parents, into our family, that is predetermined, but there are other things we have control over including how we choose to live our lives.

The latter is something we choose to do. But as we choose to do that, we can by the same token choose to make a different life for ourselves.

That’s where you’re at. You can choose to stay, or you can choose to live a different life, more suited to how you want to live your life and with whom.

  2. It must be very disappointing to realize too late that life is not a game to win by any means necessary.

Please whisper that to as many people as possible.
