A Dale Carnegie quote

Something inspirational:

“One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today.”

    1. You’re right Lisa. Perhaps those dreams have got something to do with us not always knowing how to live in the present without bringing our past into our present.

The dream we have is that of lie far removed from the one we have, away from trouble and strife and some bitter experiences. It’s a very good quote.

  1. Very wise quote. I often day dream of being at peace with my life and some of life’s simplicities.

This quote reminds me that peace is within my reach only, if I conditioned my eyes to see it.

    1. I believe you can condition your mind to think it and for your eyes to see it. I believe we can with just a few simple lifestyle changes, which stems from our outlook. It took me many years to understand, but once I came to understand what I know now, I made the relevant changes. I believe we can.

I do still have things that I deal with, it’s part of life, we’re never free of things that we have to deal with, but we can be more at peace with ourselves, even with those things.

  2. There are a lot of people who spend their life dreaming of another life if had they chosen another path.

Like the quote says, they don’t notice the beauty that is in their life at present. When you have a diagnosis of a terrible disease, you tend to live your life loving what you have and trying to do things that you hadn’t done in the past. You have a greater appreciation of your things and tend to really live life to the fullest.

I’m at a point in my life where I love where I’m at, I do things that I love and am content in just being alive. No more dreaming of what is out there, forging my own path and loving the walk through life.

Nothing wrong with daydreaming, just remember to see the beauty about in your normal life.

  3. This is a really great quote. We are all too busy thinking about this and that, that we forget that we live in the now, not in the past or the future. I have certainly been guilty of that but I am consciously changing the way I think.

    1. I totally agree and by the time we get round to living, for some of us that comes too late. It’s good that you’re consciously changing the way you think.
