  1. Patience definitely isn’t something I have a lot of, seeing as I was raised by parents who expected instant gratification from me, so I thought that was normal.

They didn’t teach us a lot of healthy life skills, so it’s no wonder that all four siblings ended up with various crutches like drugs and alcohol or toxic relationships.

I try very hard to be patient, but it feels like it’s getting harder to do, since much of my life has been wasted waiting for self-confidence to make things happen.

Now my life is moving at warp speed, like it should have been 30 years ago, I’m working on being patient enough to enjoy it for a change.

    1. Thanks. Yes, anything that is expected of us if repeated becomes the norm, and therefore feels normal.

Your upbringing back then I feel is not dissimilar to many children of that generation. It’s sad of course, but you can change things for yourself now, which is what you’re working on.

They say patience is a virtue. No matter what we deal with, having patience can sometimes be the difference between coming through and giving in.

  2. I have become more patient with age, which I guess is a good thing. Patience and its close cousin, tolerance enables us to take time over making decisions, to analyse situations without rushing.

It’s a pause which helps us get our thoughts back in order and it can only be a good thing.

    1. Thank you. Yes, It’s a good thing. No doubt for me. If there was more patience and tolerance in the world, just think how much better we and the world would be.

The world will never function at its best without either.
