A Jillian Michaels quote

Something inspirational:

“It’s not about perfect. It’s about effort. And when you bring that effort every single day, that’s where transformation happens. That’s how change occurs.”

  1. I have wasted most of my life trying to be the perfect person to fit in with others.

I have watched so many other people do the same thing and they aren’t happy. I was forced to make a lot of changes last year so that I could start to be happy.

It isn’t something that I have a lot of experience with, but I have come to enjoy the freedom that comes with doing what it is that I want to do.

My whole life was controlled by my parents who brainwashed me into thinking that I had to always take care of them and everyone else before me, but it isn’t the case anymore.

    1. Thanks Randy. Yes, no one is perfect. Luckily you’re no longer in that place, your parents are no longer around and you can make your own decisions.

I’m pleased it isn’t the case anymore, it’s time to take care of yourself.

  2. When you put forth effort you are aware that you’re doing the right thing and that keeps you rooted within.

Please don’t be concerned with failure because that evolves into perfection eventually, I bear witness to that.

    1. Thanks Tim. Yes, failing is a lesson. For us to bring effort in a way that helps us go on to find success. To fail is to learn, is to change, is to move forward, but we must remain humble, or we may fail again.

We learn more about ourselves from our failings than we do from our successes. We learn where best to place our effort.

  3. No one can be prefect; we’re human and perfection doesn’t exist. What we can do is to strive to be better and if we don’t do that then we have failed.

I am in no doubt the universe will make sure we come back to learn the lesson again and again.

    1. Thanks. I’m in no doubt also. It’s how the cosmos works whether you’re a believer or not.

As you say, we can and must strive to be better, without that we will continue to fail. On a more positive note, the universe is there to help us, not just teach us our lessons.

It is important we think about that and work on change.

  4. I like this because perfection is a fantasy. So many people kill themselves to try and be perfect. It’s like spinning your wheels on a bike with a flat tire. It just can’t be done.

Once you accept that trying your hardest by making your best decisions, you will live a much happier and fulfilling existence.

  5. Thanks Maria, ‘once you accept that trying your hardest by making your best decisions, you will live a much happier and fulfilling existence.’

You’re absolutely right. Doing your best is exactly what is needed here. When you look at what’s going on in the world, there is no such thing as perfect.

We need to do much better if we are all to co-exist together in harmony.
