  1. Unfortunately my memory is quite clear and although not photographic, it was pretty darn close. I understand the point of the quote but most people don’t have the ability to remember clearly what happened in their lives!

Each person will have different perceptions of what happened in a specific time period compared to others who may have been in the same place at the same tim.! I wish it was that easy for me to forget things the way most people do.

The only time I will probably forget is when I end up with something like dementia, which seems to run in the family and by that time it won’t matter!

    1. Thanks Randy. Yes I agree with you. We will all have different perceptions from having experienced the same circumstances.

Your last paragraph saddens me Randy. Whilst I have Osteoporosis in my family, I am determined that this isn’t something that will happen to me, hopefully. I can either resign myself to the fact that my great aunt had it and my mother fought to prevent it, or I could just sit back and wait for it to happen.

I believe there are some things that are pre-determined from our heritage, but there are some things that with a different lifestyle and attitude we can change things.

It would be lovely for you to try to forget some of those experiences Randy, without succumbing to the possible that one day you too will have Dementia. You deserve more Randy.

  2. I think most people suffer amnesia to some degree, especially historical amnesia. Yet the residue of what happened in the past still haunts many of us today. The past becomes our current reality instead of a distant memory.

We may not remember what happened, but we are what happened.

    1. Thanks Tim. I agree and particularly agree with your last sentence.

We may not remember what happened and will also often struggle with the consequences of what happened even if we’re not aware.
