  1. I think that we spend the majority of our lives striving for acceptance.

First in the school yard as a child, then as a teen, then as adults. I like the people who live outside of that box, because it makes life more interesting instead of everyone being the same.

    1. Thanks Maria. Yes it certainly does. I love this quote because Lewis Hamilton thinks and feels what we all feel.

Just be yourself, speak your own truth, live your life earnestly and you will live your live outside the box.

  2. Exactly!! People need to learn to accept others for who they are, not judge them on what others say about them. When people talk gossip about others they don’t realize the damaging affect it will have on that person.

We are who we are and we shouldn’t try to be something we’re not. We should be genuine and true to ourselves.

    1. Thanks Lisa. Yes I agree with you… we should be genuine and true to ourselves. Self-acceptance is key.

In a world where the majority of us hide our feelings, this quote from Lewis Hamilton shows us that we can and should talk about our feelings.

  3. I spent most of my life trying to get acceptance from other people when I wasn’t even able to accept myself!

I have done a lot of things I’m really not proud but I have to try to remember I’m only human. This explains why I don’t have a lot of friends, since I haven’t met many people willing to accept me as I am!

I’m hoping to at least be comfortable in my own skin someday.

    1. Thanks Randy. That’s exactly what I did as a child until I was in my mid twenties and left home. I found it easier to say No when I wasn’t living at home.

Even the people we think will have no problem seem to have problems. Celebrities aren’t exempt. You have much to be proud of Randy. Even though from your own admissions, you’ve gone off the wagon through various choices you’ve made, you’ve also turned your life around.

Stand tall Randy. You’ve made a comeback more than you think Randy.

  4. Maria summed it up brilliantly. Diversity in all its manifestations is a wonderful thing to be associated with.

We need to be proud of who we are and accept ourselves first; but then we need to really learn to accept the uniqueness of other people too.
