Something inspirational:

“I think the reward for conformity is that everyone likes you except yourself.”

Sunlight and respect is what you get when you infuse your life with quality air and defy what you know is wrong.

But conformity is like being in jail for a crime you didn’t commit.

Yes quite Tim. Sometimes we have no choice but to conform and agree with your first paragraph.

Respect for ourselves by making our own choices, but respect may not always be on the top of the other person’s agenda; particularly if the other person doesn’t agree with our decision not to conform.

When it comes to culture many family opinions are divided. It’s also a society thing too.

We all go through our lives conforming at some stage, but some of us wake up and realise we must only answer to ourselves in the end.

Yes I agree with this. As a child I conformed and continued until I decided I didn’t need to conform any more. The only people who win when we do, are those who expect nothing less from us.

Their life is for them, our life is for us. We must choose for ourselves. Conflict starts the day we choose a different way to live that doesn’t include conforming; or doing what others want.
