  1. And to complete the quote, “because sooner or later, if you are posing, you will forget the pose and then where are you?”

This is so true. We should all be who we are and not who people think we should be. How else can we be true to ourselves?

  2. I find myself renewed by the person I am today. The real me who’s no longer pinned down by the person I once was.

It’s weird though, how old friends still see the other guy and how often I play along with it.

    1. Thanks Tim. Yes, sadly, there are people within our midst, who simply choose not to see the new version of us, because that means they have to change to accept a different version of us.

Your experiences have been my experiences too around family mostly. But the newer version of me was less prepared to put up with other people’s nonsense, because that wasn’t in my own best interest.

Although it meant they would have to work harder to secure a different and better relationship with me, it’s our choice and they must fall into line. It’s also in their best interest.

The sad reality is others would rather us fall into line with how they see us, just so they don’t have to change.
