A quote on strength

Something inspirational:

“Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.”

  1. Exactly! I agree totally. My mom is a great example of strength.

She has been through so much with her cancer this time and she hangs in there. Her strength is inspiring to me.

The things I go through give me strength and determination to keep on going. I know if I didn’t I would give up totally.

    1. Thanks Lisa. I agree. We never really know whether we have strength until that point where we have to deal with like in your mom’s case a terminal illness, being made redundant or losing a loved one.

Your mom’s resolve is testament to her strength and that is inspiring, but it’s usually at a cost to ourselves and doesn’t really benefit us in a positive way. I have seen it with my father too.

Such difficult times for everyone. Good luck with everything.

  2. This quotation totally resonates with me.

I’ve struggled and I haven’t surrendered in the face of many hardships and challenges in my life, and the struggle continues to this day. My strengths were born from my struggles.

This quotation affirms that my struggles have not been in vain.

    1. Thanks Tim. I personally don’t believe any struggle is in vain. I believe it’s for a purpose. Struggles make us stronger, and as you have eloquently said your strengths were born because you’ve understood what it is to struggle.

We learn more from a life with struggle, than from a life without struggle. For me my struggles have made me into the person I am today and although I know deep down how hard that’s been and how hard it still is, I would still have chosen this life.

  3. I agree completely with this quote. There is much more to be gained in life by losing and learning from losing, than from winning.
