A Rainer Rilke quote

Something inspirational:

“Don’t be too quick to draw conclusions from what happens to you; simply let it happen. Otherwise it will be too easy for you to look with blame… at your past, which naturally has a share with everything that now meets you.”

  1. It seems like our past tends to get blamed a lot for the bad things that happen to us. We need to learn to go with the flow and eventually things will not seem as bad.

On my part, I can blame my insecurities to the way I was raised. I have come to accept that it was because of ignorance on my family’s part. Thankfully, I made changes so those insecurities don’t bother me as much now.

    1. Thanks Maria. I agree with you and have nothing more that I feel I need to add. I am pleased you feel better about your insecurities.

  2. It’s natural to have insecurities about our decisions and outcome of them in the past. We need to put them aside so we can usher in good times, otherwise it can hinder our future.

    1. Thanks Maria. Overcoming our insecurities is the hardest thing we will ever do, as there is so much del-doubt attached to those insecurities, but you’re absolutely right, it’s something we should try to put aside and do if we can. I agree.

  3. I think it’s possible that the past, present and the future somehow exist at the same time. Perhaps we are experiencing things that are simultaneously happening in different dimensions of time; citing Deja Vu as an example.

We may have a mutual relationship with all periods of time which naturally has a share with everything that now meets us. We let things happen because it’s going to happen anyway, and we learn until we advance to the next learning curve.

    1. Thanks Tim. I agree. Perhaps it’s because as we live in the present, we also live with past thoughts and experiences in our life, together with future possibilities and scenarios playing out in our minds simultaneously.

Our past and future is never far from our minds, particularly if we’re struggling to come to terms with certain aspects of those.
