  1. I think many of us have very little exposure to a world outside our own thoughts. Our world view is often influenced by forced fed propaganda and isolation from inclusion.

But this quote prudently offers no excuses for a person’s corrupt values or views; it examines the content of our character instead.

    1. Thanks Tim. Yes I can see and understand why you would think that.

I have always believed that we are unconsciously aware, but consciously we choose not to expose ourselves to a world outside our own thoughts, primarily because we have too many things going on in our own lives to care.

Every now and again we are influenced by propaganda you talk about because we consciously tap into the media and what they have to say. I love this quote, because as you say it offers no excuses, but neither do I think we should. We live by excuses and will always find excuses, just so we don’t have to face our realities.

Everything we do and say is a reflection of our character. If more of us understood that, we’d be more careful with what we say and how we say it.

  2. Indeed, everything we say is a refection of our character, so people form an opinion about us based on what we say and how we say it, good or bad.

    1. Thank you, yes you’re right that’s how it should be. If we want people to remember us fondly, we must put good things out there.

Our characters either work for us, or against us.

  3. It’s so true that what we say speaks volumes about our character or feelings.

I know that I for one am very transparent as to what is happening to me at the moment. I wish I were more mysterious but actually feel that it’s okay to be truthful.

    1. Thanks Maria, yes it does. It’s also absolutely right to be truthful. Without truth we have nothing.

Truth is part of our integrity, which is everything in terms of our character and personality.
