  1. Right along with the definition of insanity which is making the same mistake over and over again and expecting different results!

This has pretty much been my life story, seeing as I have ended up in the same type of toxic relationships repeatedly, but just with different women. I’m pretty sure that I have learned my lesson this time and nobody can say that I didn’t try to work it out with my girlfriend.

I have consistently failed in so many areas of my life, mostly because I refused to ask for help with issues that I didn’t know how to deal with, mainly out of pride.

I now know that I do need to ask for help even when I don’t want to, as I would like to finally be able to enjoy living while I still can.

    1. Thanks Randy. Yes, if something doesn’t work and we go back in and learn from our mistakes we have learned out lessons.

Many of us will continue to make mistakes, because we’d rather make mistakes than take advice which we didn’t think of for ourselves. We tend to learn better that way also.

But some of us will genuinely not understand what our lessons are or what learning our lessons means. Not learning our lessons I believe and agree is our biggest failure, because without our lessons we will always fail.

  2. Sometimes I learn more than I want to know, especially when it causes endless pain. But it’s usually the person who knows everything who hasn’t learned anything.

    1. True on both counts Tim. Yes, through pain we learn our most valued lesson through things like neglect and abuse. We need to remain strong and we need to come through.

There’s a saying that goes, ‘a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.’ I think this quote ties in with your response. Yes, we can know everything, but know nothing.

That’s how it tends to go. Those others will know, but will never agree.

  3. Every experience in life teaches us a lesson. All we need to do is listen to that message and carry it forward.

Some people don’t and are destined to repeat those same mistakes. If the experience was a negative one, it leaves a big impression on our brain.

The most important thing in life is to learn and grow from each mistake.

    1. Thanks Maria. Your last paragraph sums up your response beautifully. Yes, we cannot spiritually grow without learning from each mistake.

For those who try to listen, or learn how to receive their messages and lessons, they can at least be forgiven for making repeated mistakes.

But for those who go through life thinking lessons aren’t something they need concern themselves with, they are mistaken.

Life has a way of catching up with us. Without our lessons, we will always make mistakes.
