Be you

Something inspirational:

“Go where you are celebrated – not tolerated. If they can’t see the real value of you, it’s time for a new start.”

  1. I agree. To be tolerated is kind of insulting but insightful.

Maybe we’re not doing what we should or acting the way we should around others and they just tolerate us. We do need to change our strategies if this is the case.

It makes me think that may be our talk is all about us. We should be interested in others and what’s going on in their lives, not be selfish by concentrating on ourselves or trying to get all the attention.

    1. Thanks Lisa. I’m not sure this is really all about us unless we know for sure we’re doing something to irritate other people!!

There are people who work on a superficial level so will only tolerate others. They literally will have no time for them. If we are being tolerated for other reasons as you say, then I agree we need to make sure we change so that people have no reason to tolerate us.

There’s clearly something wrong if we have that kind of relationship.

  2. A woman once told me she didn’t like people, she just tolerated them. I wondered what made her so special.

I don’t think I’ve ever been in a situation of being just tolerated, but I have felt not fully appreciated and taken for granted in certain environments of people activity.

To be tolerated is to be invisible, and I would not tolerate that.

    1. I agree with your comments Tim and I think you’re right, no one is ever that special that they cannot tolerate or at least learn to tolerate other people.

As you rightly say, what made her so special? I hate to say this, but it must have had something to do with her ego?
