Count every small luxury

Something inspirational:

The next time you take a bath, enjoy the water, notice the lovely colours of the bubble bath, savour the peace and tranquility and just take in how much you feel you have accomplished in your day.

Instead of taking the small things in your life for granted, take time to notice each one in full. Create a sense of wellbeing, purpose and richness in your life.

Notice and appreciate what you have around you. It is the small pleasures in life that will give you the most satisfaction and bring you the most peace.

  1. I have a friend who never had much. He came from a poor family and yet he never complains about what he does not have. He does have tons of friends. If he is your friend he would do anything for you.

When I was in an apartment he helped me move 3 times. I unfortunately don’t see him much any more, but I am blessed to call him my friend.

I wish other people were more like him. It would make the world a better place.

    1. Randy, your friend truly has a gift of not having, but not wanting to have either. It is a lovely characteristic to have.

  2. When you want stuff and get stuff and have it all, the stuff will eventually take over your life in someway. Maybe a house of clutter or unhappiness because you have everything, so what is left to wish for or dream of. And it doesn’t have to be stuff it can be people or a career. I think when you don’t have much you appreciate what you have more.

That’s whats partly wrong with our youth today (not all of them but a lot of them). Their parents think they have to buy them everything or get them everything they want. Then they grow up and don’t get everything and are some unhappy people. I agree with you Ilana. I think you should be thankful for the things you have and your life even if it’s not a lot.

  3. I have gone from broke to wealthy and now back to broke but what you are saying is very true.

No matter what we have in life we will never find true happiness if we can’t see and appreciate the richness in the little things that we take for granted everyday.
