Something inspirational:

Do you struggle with energy? After continuing to work without a break, do you get to the stage where you feel you need to sit out or down? It may be after a workout at the gym or after lunch. Perhaps when you reach that stage it’s worth you assessing what you do.

Taking rest first, then continuing to go about you day, should give you that little bit more energy, but pushing yourself without a rest, may make you even more tired.

Whatever you need to do, it will be best done when your body is ready to let you. When you work in harmony with your mind and body, it makes for a more peaceful life.

  1. Excellent suggestion to listen to your body. It speaks loud and clear if we will listen.

    Even cravings indicate a need the body has many times. Like when a person is depressed he/she might crave chocolate. Chocolate contains serotonin and serotonin is a brain chemical that aids in fighting depression. I am sure you can think of many more.

    The healthier the body is, the more accurate those cravings might be. So, yes, Ilana listening to our body is very important.

  2. Yes, you’re right Terry. Listening to our body helps us achieve good health… at optimum level for longer, without putting ourselves through extra stress.

  3. I definitely need to learn to listen to my body and quit pushing myself. Things can wait, the’re not going anywhere.

    1. Through understanding cerebral palsy I have learned to do that. It must be so frustrating for everyone else that I have, but it helps me focus on the important things I need to do. We all need a bit of me time.

  4. Sounds like some good old common sense to me, something Ilana is in abundance of. Techniques of working out is an art form and taking breaks is well know to promote a better workout. The same would apply to physical or emotional health.
