Something inspirational:

“Without freedom from the past there is no freedom at all, because the mind is never new, fresh, innocent. It is only the fresh, innocent mind that is free. Freedom has nothing to do with age, it has nothing to do with experience; and it seems to me that the very essence of freedom lies in understanding the whole mechanism of habit, both conscious and unconscious.”

  1. Very telling indeed, about our habits and instincts.

That’s why I try to observe the situation at hand from a third person perspective and look ‘into’ the situation, so to speak.

Even though I take an objective stance on the situation, how do I unlearn what I have learned in order to come to a more complete objective opinion?

Time for some more reflection for me!

    1. As long as our unconscious and conscious mind think the same thoughts, we will have complete freedom to objectively take a stance on ANY situation.

The two have to work in harmony with each other for us to be able to make informed choices and have complete freedom without going back to our old thoughts and experiences.

      A very good response Mat.

  2. I never really understood what freedom was all about until I got older and realized I was constantly giving it up!

I haven’t felt like I really had a lot of freedom in my life, so it was something I didn’t miss when I didn’t have it. I’m hoping and praying that someday I will one day experience it again.
