Something inspirational:

“Generosity is also an act of freedom, a casting off of the constraints of prudence and self-interest.”

  1. I think I’m a very generous person. I learned from my mom. She is a giver. She will give a person the shirt off her back if they needed it and I like to think I’m kind of like her.

I give so much and try to help as much as I can. A therapist told me once that nurses (some of them) have a tendency to try to fix the world and I’m one f them.

I tried to fix my first husband but couldn’t and I finally accepted that. Being generous is a good thing though.

    1. Thanks Lisa. The sad reality is that we cannot fix anyone, physically to a point we can, but emotionally we can’t. In my opinion we can only fix ourselves.

I do agree with you, being generous is good, kind and a caring thing to do.

  2. I always thought I was a very generous person, but I have realized that over a lot of years I have been anything but!

I’ve been thinking about it recently and truly wish I would have given more of myself and my time and money over the years. I find it very hard to live with myself right now and have to find a way to come to terms with what I have become.

I’m hoping and praying that I will be able to do so much more for others in the future!

    1. Try not to be so hard on yourself. When we’re growing up, our behavior can sometimes emulate what goes on in our environment and in our family.

I personally don’t believe we grow up with all of our intentions, I honestly believe we play out or rebel against someone that makes us feel like that.

It always looks and feels worse when we look at our behavior in the past. Sometimes we just have to let things be and move on so that we do things better. The past has gone, it’s time to work on a better future.

    1. It’s lovely to read something that is the total opposite of what we may experience.

I have to agree with you that the world seems to be like that in one way or another. Times have definitely changed.
