The important moments

Something inspirational:

“Sooner or later we all discover that the important moments in life are not the advertised ones, not the birthdays, the graduations, the weddings, not the great goals achieved. The real milestones are less prepossessing. They come to the door of memory unannounced, stray dogs that amble in, sniff around a bit and simply never leave. Our lives are measured by these.”

  1. This is so true!

It’s not all the events I remember, but the good times and some bad that I’ve had over the years. Family times, my daughters and son growing up and other sentimental journeys.

    1. Thanks Lisa. The quote is absolutely true, I love it. Different moments means different things to different people. Our interpretation of the quote will differ.

It’s lovely that you have some fond memories of your own sentimental journey with your daughters and son who is now growing up.

  2. I agree, memories of momentous occasions soon fade, but as Lisa says it’s the longer term experiences, which for me involve my family growing up that will always be with me.

  3. One of my greatest memories happened 8 days apart. I graduated from college which was a really big one for me, then my brother got married 8 days later. I was an usher at his wedding.

Never been in a wedding party before or since. Quite the experience. All happened in 1977.

  4. Yes, the most important moments are usually the ones that aren’t planned and just happen when they are supposed to! I’ve spent the majority of my life not really paying attention to these moments since I haven’t really enjoyed my life for a very long time.

Things didn’t turn out the way I wanted and I felt like what happened didn’t matter after that. I can only hope and pray that I can change these feelings so that I can possibly enjoy my life!

    1. Often when we have too many bad memories Randy, we do lose sight of some of the good memories.

I hope that at some point you have some good memories to remember.
