Those mindful holidays

Holidays are important. They help us redress the balance where we need an emotional break. Times where we can leave what we know as normal behind and bring back perspective to our lives.

Imagine how good you’ll feel when you can re-live those precious moments, the peace and just somewhere to escape, particularly when the going gets tough. Remember a place that was special, a place where you were at peace.

Hold that image in your thoughts. Take comfort in the image, rest with it and enjoy its peace.

  1. I agree 100% with this. I am sure we all have a special place – perhaps from our childhood before the pressures of adulthood took over – where we felt our happiest. It is also fascinating how a smell or a sound can easily trigger those memories too.

    Visualising our holiday in Provence works for me, even if it drives you mad occasionally!

  2. Surely a good tool to cope in today’s hectic world. I use a lot of imagery in meditation, it’s very soothing and calming and does bring one back to center… thanks Ilana.
