Why we must change

Something inspirational:

“One of the things I learned when I was negotiating was that until I changed myself, I could not change others.”

    1. Thanks Lisa, you said it, wise words from a wise man. Not only has the world lost a great Ambassador, he also had a unique and gentle soul.

  1. Yes, ultimately it comes down to being able to change myself, which is more important! It actually dawned on me just a couple of days ago that this fact has been the biggest problem in my life for a very long time.

Somehow I was hanging on to the fantasy of people magically changing their ways when it really very rarely happens in the real world.

I’m still in shock that it was something so simple yet profound that I don’t know quite how to put it into words!

    1. Thanks Randy. Yes you’re right any change ultimately comes down to us and has to, in the same way others have to change for themselves.

  2. Change is what happens naturally when the pain of holding on becomes greater than the pain of letting go.

Nelson Mandela was a great spiritual warrior.

    1. Thanks Tim. You’re absolutely right, change should be something that happens naturally. From my own experiences, particularly with people who have been close to me, not everyone has the ability to work through change however painful holding on to something becomes.

Nelson Mandela truly was a great spiritual warrior. I had the pleasure of seeing him in my home town many years ago.

  3. Great words of wisdom from one of the greatest people of all times. He will be sorely missed, but his legacy will live on; God willing!

    1. Thanks Maria. Let’s hope the family he left behind will continue his work and legacy in the same format he left this world.

I agree with you Maria, great words of wisdom from one of the greatest people of all times. I’ll second that.

  4. A great saying from a great man. I was very privileged to see him speak at a concert about 15 years ago. It was a wonderful experience.

    1. I agree with you. It’s always great to have these kind of opportunities. They’re very rare but I would say an opportunity not to be missed.

I’m pleased you had the opportunity.
