Accountability

Accountability is something we know to do, something we may ignore, but it mustn’t be ignored. If we want to create a culture of accountability so we can all live together in harmony, then accountability starts with us.

We must start by being responsible for ourselves. We must take ownership of our decisions and when we make commitments, we must meet those commitments. If we ignore accountability, others will too. We must all be accountable.

Being accountable isn’t something you do once. It’s an all-time thing. If one person ignores their accountabilities, then it will open the floodgates for others to ignore and be selectively accountable too. That said, the more accountable we are, the more the universe will help us meet with success; it’s what the universe expects.

We must stop putting the blame on others and whining about our lives. Us veering off course, signifies our lack of accountability and responsibility towards our own actions. Instead we must be proactive. We can never succeed without facing our responsibilities and making ourselves accountable.

Be mindful. It’s a state of awareness, accepting facts without judgment, keeping an open mind. When we choose not to accept facts, we’re telling and showing others we’re not accountable, and long term we will always mentally, emotionally and physically struggle. Our non-accountability is a conversation with the universe; and the universe will never agree to that.

For those of us who are accountable, the universe will always want to help us meet with continued success. Life is accountability. No one escapes it.

  1. Being accountable isn’t exactly rocket science is it? It simply means nothing more than doing the things you know you should do, taking control, fixing your mistakes, and fully owning the things that you are responsible for.

It’s no wonder the world is in such a mess when leaders don’t exhibit any of these traits.

    1. Thanks. Yes, you’ve said what a lot of people are thinking, but probably don’t say. And you’re right. With Covid, it could have been handled much better.

I personally don’t get what’s so difficult. But you’re right and until we change, it will be more of the same. I think we all know what that means.
