We need to live in the ‘here and now.’ It is important we don’t run from problems. If we have something that we need to deal with, we need to find a way through.
Living in the here and now, means mentally focusing on and living in the present and that can help you live a fuller life. It is important we put the emphasis on what is happening in our life, at the moment it happens. As a child it’s often difficult to do, but as the adult, it is exactly what we need to do.
As children, we don’t always know how to be mindful, we may often be in a world of our own, not necessarily because we’re struggling with something, but we may live in a daydream world, away from adult life.
Dealing with the here and now, means we will all cope better, because we’re living presently. Our ability in our adult years to be able to deal with things in the ‘here and now’ is testament to how well we have come through childhood. But dealing with the here and now is important if we are to come through happier and more balanced individuals.
When we mentally run from our issues, we will struggle to deal with things, and that will always have an effect on our mental health.
