My Book Journey

When I started to put my first book together, I had no idea what form it would take. My book journey started so that I could understand my life around a disability I didn’t know I had. Not knowing what my symptoms were, it was important I brought them together in a safe, self-contained and non-judgmental way.

Looking back on ‘My Book’ and using reflection, it would also have been easy for me to write about my experiences negatively, to continue to see those experiences negatively, to shout those responsible out, but what would have been the point?

Now as I continue my book journey, I explore my other passions, healing and spirituality. Although my second book follows on from my first book Cerebral Palsy: ‘A Story,’ is part memoir/part motivational guide, this book is self-help. Even through all of my experiences I still believe that with our values in tact and with a healthy lifestyle, we can become enlightened.

Being spiritual allows for growth and opens us up to compassion, tolerance and understanding. I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing with my blog or my book, without my spiritual values, or understanding. Spirituality gives a deeper meaning and understanding to my experiences.

It has strengthened the connections between myself and my inner wisdom. It is my connections with my inner wisdom that helps me live a life of gratitude and that promotes my healing.

  1. Your book can be seen as a reference guide for mental and physical healing, as most of us already know.

It’s your journey and ours, please don’t forget that.

    1. Awww that’s kind. I love that you think so. That’s Absolutely right Tim. It’s ALL our journeys.

We’re ALL a team and we take the journey together.

  2. You have been such an inspiration to me. As for thinking about writing my own book that’s as far as I have got.

Now if only I could get over that hurdle. I can’t seem to begin to start writing, let alone get around to writing a whole book. It has been something I have wanted to do for such a long time.

I wanted to be a great and famous writer like Stephen King, but I would be thrilled just to have at least one book published. It looks like I will have to take the leap of faith to write, even if it never really amounts to anything.

    1. Thanks Randy. Yes, unless we know for sure, we never really know what we’re capable of until we try.

If we try and it doesn’t work out, then at least we’ve tried.
