A Mental Health Book for these times

I’m not a celebrity, but I do have ‘A Story’ to tell! My Book: Cerebral Palsy ‘A Story’ not only takes me on my own journey, but it takes the reader by the hand on their own journey too. It is perfect for Covid-19 times.

My book shows us a different way to be. It helps us to cope in these difficult times. Where you may be feeling tense and uneasy about the road ahead, it can bring about more calm and peace. Where you’re going through hoops to try to understand your life and your experiences, my book shows you how.

Your support has never been more important. Covid-19 is a tough time to be published; ‘Mental Health’ has never been so important and my book is all about ‘Mental Health.’

If you care and want to change how you feel about things, about Covid, if you want to start feeling positive in these times, if you want to start looking ahead and take that constant feeling of dread away, then my book is for you.

If you also want to start feeling better about your past; if you want to bring yourself into a more peaceful place so that you are able to mentally stay present; if you want to permanently move on from your past and to feel better about your choices, then my book is for you.

Right now in Covid times, home is a perfect place for us to chill, for us to look inwards at our mental health. There has never been a better time to take control.

In my book, Cerebral Palsy: a story ‘Finding the Calm after the Storm,’ I use my experiences and lessons to create inspiring messages about mental and physical health, positivity, resilience and change.

  1. It’s hard not to feel overwhelmed in these difficult times but your book helps us reflect on what is important and helps us find meaning and calm.

Never mind that you are not a celebrity. I haven’t read any book by a celebrity that was worth more than tuppence. Yours, on the other hand is the perfect antidote to living through these unprecedented times in an ugly world.

I cannot think of a better way to spend time, other than wrapped in its inspiring message.

    1. Thank you. Yes, I am pleased you see my book as the ‘perfect antidote’ to living through these unprecedented times. Yes, sowing a seed for change in this difficult time.

I am happy to leave the rest of your response with you for others to read.

  2. I find it amazing how you shoved your hand into the past and retrieved your memories to produce such a beautiful book.

It is indeed a reference guide to building and maintaining better mental health, a must read for these turbulent times.

Yes, you may not be a celebrity as we know ‘celebrities’ to be, but you are quite a celebrity to many of us.

  3. Thanks Tim. You’re right it is a beautiful book, it is a soulful book, one which not only speaks the ‘truth’ but is respectfully done, so there is understanding where there could quite easily have been blame.

It wasn’t an easy book to write. I am not even sure how I managed to retrieve so many memories, the words just flew out of me, as I started to pen to paper. I am choosing to see the potential reason (my autism) as positive.

As human beings we recall certain experiences, and we may hold on to those, but I am able to recall all of my ‘life stories’ verbatim, as they happened. With my autism, I hold on to facts and figures. I am choosing not to be defined by it, particularly because it’s hard around communication.

My writing and accomplishments define me. My life changed when I found out about my disability and initially I have mum to thank. I understand why I was never told, but without mum’s words in her final days, I would still be fumbling around in the dark looking for answers on a disability I didn’t know I had.
