My Book of Connected Experiences

My book is not only a blueprint of my life and of my disability, based on my experiences and how I see the world, it also connects each of us together through universal truths. Universal truths teach others how to treat us, by what they know we will tolerate.

My book Cerebral Palsy: ‘A Story’ Finding the Calm after the Storm, gives each of us clarity, allowing us to make connections with ourselves, our lives and our experiences. It gives me clarity on my experiences and a positive focus on my disability in ways I can finally understand.

Universal truths also help:

  • Bring situations to a head where there is uncertainty;
  • Bring about synchronicity in the way it should happen and at the right time;
  • Truth helps you let go of the old and in with the new;
  • Give you a better life, a more deserving life.

Universal truth helps you move away from your limitations when you know what those are. It brings understanding to those that need to understand. No one can escape truth, theirs or someone else’s truth. Working on truth stops us imposing limitations on ourselves; truth brings us into our lives.

Without my truth, I could never know about my disability in any detail. My book is my truth in what were very difficult years, in a way that brings understanding for us all.

  1. Ilana, your book inspires people to embrace hope in their darkest moments. That message has your readers leaning forward, standing up and reclaiming their dignity.

    There is something infinitely beautiful about that.

    1. Thanks Tim. I am happy to leave your response with you.

      Truthfully, these aren’t easy times. Any support with the book will be greatly received as it will go some way to help me keep my website going.

  2. Yes, I wish I knew what my daughter thought of your book. I gave her a copy because like you she also has cerebral palsy and struggles mentally and emotionally and thought it would be good for her.

    The truth is that she hasn’t been able to do anything with her life, because of people controlling her life. It would be great if I could find a way to get through to her.

    She’s such a smart and beautiful girl. I would like things to change for her, I hope and pray things do.

    1. Thanks Randy. What a lovely thing to say. What is important, is that your daughter has the book. Thank you for sorting that out.

      I know that if she is reading it, it will help. But for now it will probably take time for you to know or hear about how she is doing.

      I know that in time things will change for your daughter with her current circumstances, nothing stays the same and those will change too. I am hoping at that point she will begin to think about her relationship with you.

      If you can send out positive thoughts, I am sure that will help your daughter cope, even if she is not in full control of her circumstances right now.
