Seeking help and support is not a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of self-awareness and strength. It takes courage to face and deal with mental health.

In 2023 there is still stigma around mental health

I deal with a disability and in 2023 the stigma surrounding mental health is still there. The world needs to start talking openly and honestly about mental health. It needs to be on everyone's agenda. Everyone has a right and deserves to live a life free from the burden of mental health struggles. There are too many people out there still silently struggling with their mental health.

It is important to be proactive

It is important to be proactive, to address mental health, rather than wait until it becomes difficult to manage. It is important to reach out for help if you're experiencing symptoms, such as persistent feelings of sadness or anxiety, difficulty functioning in daily life and changes in sleep or eating patterns.

Mental health is at critical levels

Mental health is at critical levels and it matters. We matter. We’re living in difficult times. The world is currently coping with a virus that hasn’t gone, isn’t going because we’re not actively taking steps to reduce it. We don’t talk about mental health. Mental Health is ‘the elephant in the room,' and we know it’s there.

Let’s start by acknowledging mental health. Let's have the conversations that we need to have. Let's prioritise mental health and we can all take the necessary steps to deal with mental health.
