An article hit the headlines in 2021 when 75% of people said their mental health had been impacted by the pandemic. (Source: bacpcouk) I was one of those 75% – mental health did hit rock bottom in and around the first couple of years of the pandemic and as a result my first book Cerebral Palsy: A Story 'Finding the Calm After the Storm' that was published in January 2020 at the start of the pandemic, along with my further two books have taken a nose-dive. The pandemic has brought about significant challenges and changes in attitude towards mental health.
Choosing to deal with Mental Health
We could have chosen to deal with mental health head on collectively, or chose to ignore it. 4 years into the virus and mental health has largely been ignored. There have also been disruptions to many industries, including the creative industries, including publishing and animation, which are still lagging behind.
Trying to remain adaptable and resilient
Through my blog I am trying to remain adaptable and resilient in the face of on-going mental health challenges. We have all been affected by the pandemic. The pandemic has undoubtedly reshaped the way we handle mental health, but I hope I can continue to make a positive impact through my blog and mental health books.
