The world needs to prioritise Mental Health. Ill at ease equals disease. How many of us are really at ease with our struggles? How many of us really prioritise mental health? With so much noise and negative influences in the world, it's not difficult to get caught up in toxicity. Mental health isn't popular but necessary. The CP Diary is probably the last thing you want to read, BUT and there is a but coming – the cost of ignoring mental health is 'disease.'
Listening to the 'Outside World'
We spend so much time listening to the world outside of us and to those around us and don't spend enough time listening to ourselves – our souls and what our soul needs – what we need. We ignore what we should be doing, and how we should be living. How often do you pause to check in with yourself? Thoughts, emotions and mental wellbeing are the foundation to good health. Without balance, acceptance, and moderation everything will start to unravel.
Mental Health: Stress and Anxiety
Mental health isn’t just about avoiding stress and anxiety, but it is about creating space for self-awareness, self-care, and self-compassion. It’s about recognising when you're running on empty and making the conscious decision to regroup, to refuel. The truth is, if you don’t make your mental health a priority, life will force you to. For many, and I have seen it happen that realisation comes too late.
Ignoring Mental Health is Costly
When mental health is ignored, it manifests itself in physical health. Stress builds, energy depletes, and illness finds its way in. But Just as negative emotions can wear us down, positive actions have the power to lift us back up.
To Conclude:
So, take a step back from the noise. Start paying attention to what you need. Rest and read books that show you how to get on top of your mental health. Most importantly, remind yourself that you are worthy of self-care.
If you haven’t started working on your mental health yet, The CP Diary – with 15 years of articles behind me – is a great place to begin your journey. Why not give it a go?
