Reflecting and Sitting in Truth

"I have some anger around this loss. So many of us liked her, admired her, without listening to her. Without acting upon the message she so tirelessly worked to see manifest, right up to and through the end of her 91 beautiful years. Too many of us look up to examples without following them. We say, “they’re doing good things, how nice” without being kind or caring ourselves." – Waylon Lewis

Admiration Without Action

Jane Goodall devoted her life to others, choosing compassion over comfort. She could have lived for herself, but instead dedicated her time and heart to understanding and protecting primates, working tirelessly to make their lives – and the world – a better place.

Many of us admire, may applaud, and yet we fail to act. We may watch from a distance, inspired by the goodness of others – but too often, we stop short of living that message ourselves.

Many may notice, but won't nurture and don't indulge. It’s easy to look up to others doing good and forget that we, too, should be part of that goodness.

An Earth Angel Remembered

Jane Goodall was, and will always be, an earth angel. Her kindness, empathy, and love for the planet were not just ideals – they were her way of being. A beautiful soul.

Like her, we should all try to live with awareness, respect, to help others – which I hope to continue to do through my writing.

RIP Jane Goodall. You shall be missed.
