On the 17th May 2018, The CP Diary will be 8 years old and into its 9th year. Never having missed a blog, I still continue to blog. I’ve moved on emotionally with my life since those initial days.

Through my writing, I have proved that through a history of events that shape us we can still unlearn and relearn a new way to be. The good thing about the human brain is its ability to re-evaluate what it needs, but we must want to re-evaluate.

We have got to want to make a difference and change things, we have got to want to move on from our past. We have got to stop wallowing in self-pity. If the life we’re born into isn’t the life we want, it’s time for us to move on.

Living with Difference

Seen, Misjudged, Rarely Understood For most of my life, I lived in the dark. Not because I didn't know I was different, but because I didn't yet have the understanding to explain why life always felt harder than it seemed to be ...

What Writing Taught Me About Self-Understanding

How writing became more than a creative outlet When I started writing, I had no idea where it would lead. I simply needed somewhere to put my thoughts – a place to make sense of experiences I struggled to understand ...

  1. Your life emphasizes your progression, step by glorious step, with a little cross examination here and there, but nothing messy. Your deep emotions laid raw for the world to see.

And I've been with you, at least five of those years, and counting.

    1. Awww thanks Tim. I appreciate the sentiment. How lovely. Although my blogs are based on my own experiences, as well as you marking my progression.

In the 5+ years you've been on the site with me, I have watched your emotional progression too through your responses on my blogs.

I write in such a way that anyone can own my experiences and use the message in each blog to bring understanding to their own set of experiences and lives. I allow each of us to take our own journey and to work things out for themselves through my experiences.

I am thankful you have come into my life and are taking your journey with me. It's comforting to know I'm not doing it all on my own.

  2. I have learnt much in the last few years reading your thoughts and others' responses.

Participating in that process has been a privilege and I look forward to continuing on this journey for the next 8 years.

    1. Thank you. Yes, 16 years would be amazing! It has been a privilege to have you on the site also. In a world that is becoming even more uncertain, it is great that we have my website to fall back on.

I am happy that through my experiences, together with my thoughts and feelings, my blogs are making a difference to the way you see your life.

  3. Awesome and congratulations! I know that I have been following your story for a very long time and this blog has been very helpful to me.

It usually seems like the subject you post is very often what I am dealing with, at the time. You have obviously persevered through very trying times in your life and managed to do very well without really knowing what the issues were.

What it comes down to, like you said, is that we want to have to make a difference and work on actually changing things. I have been doing what I like to call 'the backstroke in the pity pot' for far too long in my life and it is time to finally move on.

Even though my life didn't turn out the way I wanted to, I have to accept that it was the way it was, even though I still don't like those facts.

    1. Thanks for following Randy and being part of The CP Diary. I'm pleased you find what I write helpful. I couldn't do what I do successfully without your support.

I think it was either a case of 'sink or swim' and I wasn't prepared to sink. I think you're right though. Even though our lives don't turn out the way we want it to, we must find an acceptance on our experiences and move on.

I actually believe we're doing ourselves an injustice, by not doing anything. As you say we don't have to like the facts, but we must come to terms with it.

However, we do it we must move on. It would be a waste otherwise.
