I once wrote a blog entitled ‘My life after Covid.’ A little premature perhaps, two and a half years in, I am 'four walled,' confined to my home, and confined within my mental and emotional disability, and the virus isn’t finished.
The virus the world thinks has gone, hasn't gone. Not talking about and addressing something doesn't means it's gone, it just means they're not talking about.
It is important the world learns its valuable lessons, through a global crisis, and act accordingly. The pandemic isn’t finished, and unless the world conforms to what it knows it is dealing with, this can come back to bite. In 2022, we are seeing cases in the UK increase again.
Aristotle, Greek philosopher, once said, “It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.” The light is accepting it happened and finding a way through that works for all of us, not just a select few.
Given some of the decisions and undertakings by Governments around the world, you would have thought it was finished, but the UK is recording new cases of Covid, therefore it would be prudent for us to live with more caution and continue to wear masks.
Thanks for writing about the pandemic. In the UK, infection rates are rising week on week and yet you would not know at all that we are living in a pandemic.
No masks, no social distancing, no hand cleansers. I went to the supermarket yesterday and saw no more than 3 or 4 other customers wearing masks. I came home and watched the Glastonbury Music Festival highlights on t.v. where 200,000 people were watching Diana Ross. That's not going to help keep a lid on the virus spreading.
I have no doubt rates will continue to increase all summer, as I am in the minority in thinking that precautionary behaviour would be good idea.
You and I are a minority. The majority don't seem bothered about the pandemic. They want their lives back, understandably, but moving forward it isn't going to help them or us.
If governments were more proactive and didn't act like there was nothing to act on, I do believe people would take the virus more seriously.
Whilst governments are initially to blame, we are too, whilst it is being ignored.
