I had to go through everything in order to learn" - Martin Scorsese

Do you relate? I relate. Living with the struggles of living with what I later learned was a disability, I had to go through what I did. We can spend a lifetime 'striving to learn' about us.

The more connected with my struggles I was, the more connected with myself I became, the more I was okay with me. But it has taken years to think about things differently. Striving to learn doesn’t happen overnight.

I was broken

The more time I spent time in my head, the more I became comfortable with 'me.' When we work on ourselves, with our brokenness, we allow ourselves to mature, and to grow, as we begin to see the world through a different, a less broken lens.

Society is built on trust

Society is built on trust, and trust is built on truth. Without truth, businesses, government systems and our relationships would crumble. Truth allows us to make informed decisions, to build trust in others, and to hold ourselves and others accountable. It is the foundation of our moral and ethical code.

The truth is necessary

Telling the truth is necessary for just about everything, for personal growth, for building trust and relationships. The world needs truth tellers. As Margaret Mead once said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

It is important to tell the truth

It is important to tell the truth and act with integrity. The truth sets us free, lies simply keep us stuck and will eventually change the way we are able to live our lives. Karma acts as a boomerang, and it comes back.
