Something inspirational:

“If you have done something meritorious, you experience pleasure and happiness; if wrong things, suffering. A happy or unhappy life is your own creation. Nobody else is responsible. If you remember this, you won’t find fault with anybody. You are your own best friend as well as your worst enemy.”

  1. I agree with this quote. People seem to think they have to blame someone or something for their problems when it's nobodies fault but their own.

We make our own mistakes. We are responsible for our own happiness, not anybody else or thing creates our problems. We choose to be happy or not.

  2. In that ultimately we are responsible for ourselves and the consequences of our actions, then yes I agree with this quote.

I would also add that we respond to external influence too and those influences can often have a profound impact in a way that we would not have purposely envisaged.

    1. Yes of course, but ultimately we are still responsible for our actions.

In an ideal world it would be great if we all had time to respond to external influences. Regardless of any profound impact we are still responsible.

  3. Yes, I made so many choices in my life that I used to blame on others, but ultimately they were my decisions! I've wasted a lot of years wishing I could change the past and not concentrating on the present.

I've had to learn things the hard way by not listening to people and wanting to do things my own way with disastrous results. My biggest regret from all of this has been how much it took away from my daughter and my family.

Now the most I can do is try to forgive myself and others so I can make better choices with the time I have left!

  4. I guess the bottom line is how we perceive just about everything is our reality. But there must be a point where sanity and insanity intersect in this psychological drama.

We are our own worst enemy or our own best friend depending on our emotional state at any given time. We are not robotic, we just weren't made that way.

Perhaps we need to understand the frailties of being human instead of placing too many demands on limited intellect and human emotion.

    1. Thanks Tim. I agree with your sentiments. Being our own worst enemy or our own best friend absolutely depends on our emotional state at any given time.

Once we understand everything there is to know about the human emotion, we will understand enough to want to change the demands we place upon ourselves. Until then the majority of us will continue to place demands upon ourselves.
